That's how it worked a time ago. Then people complaint that they want to add
several files in nested subdirectories at once. So the Add dialog was
introduced, which allows you to choose which files you want to add. This request
sounds like a step back, doesn't it?

I am against this request since it would make the command inconsequent and will
lead to confusion.
