I agree 100% with that. but one thing that is comon sense and should
be written in stone is
"every time you set a foreground color, set a background color"

this is even recomended by W3c on the use of CSS to stylize web pages.

but again, i think that default background/foreground and a coloured
icon on the side works much better.
