I can't help but wonder what you'd being saying were the shoe on the other foot, i.e. the program came without the spellchecker but
had it as a separate download, and the authors refused to put it up as a single download? Would you blithely accept a "get over it"
comment from them? After all, downloading and installing two programs "ain't that bad, I do it regularly", right?

That said, however, this *is* an open source project. Those who wish a spellchecker-free download are free to contribute a build
script that accomplishes that. Given the disdain with which that proposal has been met on the list, though, you might have a tough
time getting the responsible parties to host the smaller download.
