Don't think the XP firewall looks at program changes, but ZoneAlarm
does.

This wouldn't have anything to do with the authentication storage
changes in SVN 1.2.0 would it?

One other thing you really should try:
Install the SVN 1.2.0 command line client and try 'svn checkout
/path/to/repos'. Maybe the problem is in SVN 1.2.0 rather than TSNV
1.2.0
