It's definitely tortoise that's causing the problem, since right click
is fine when done on non-svn-checkout folders.

It's definitely something about the corporate build of windows I'm using
too, and more bizarelly it seems to non-deterministically affect some
machines and not others. One of the excellent desktop support guys here
is trying to help me resolve the issue, I'll let you know if we make any
progress...
