That is correct if you compare revisions. If you compare HEAD revisions,
they both show the same of course, so you can't tell them apart.

I just found another possible bug. In most of my test repos I can't get
diffing to work at all. I keep getting error messages such as:

"'/trunk' is not a working copy"

This seems to happen when I diff a branch with a tag, or a tag with
trunk, although I think it is more complicated than that, haven't pinned
it down yet. It may be to do with renames. Are you using peg revisions?

Another feature I have just noticed is that clicking on a revision
doesn't deselect anything already selected. If you click on a box by
mistake, then go somewhere else in the graph and try to select 2
revisions you can't do it. You have to find the box you first clicked on
incorrectly and unselect it.
