The unified diff output contains all the information - so yes, it could be
done this way.

Another alternative is to re-use the same mechanism that the "unified diff"
uses to create the list of modified files.

Today, if I select any revision in the "Log Messages" window, the bottom
pane displays a list of files modified in that revision. The list of files
modified between any 2 revisions can be thought of as the sum of the files
modified in the set of revisions in-between. Possibly another solution
lurks here.

However it is not for me to suggest the best implementation solution - that
is best left for the implementer to determine. I only make these
suggestions here to help clarify the requested functionality.

No - I think you're pretty close to the money.

The point of the request is to obtain the same information, but in a
different way (ie graphically rather than textually).
