I'm not a seasoned TSVN developer, so I'm not sure why it does this.
Maybe someone with a better acquaintance with the source code can find
the appropriate code and check the log message for why this was
changed ;-).

Have you checked the options in the TSVN settings dialog?
There are a number of options, eg. "Show folderstatus", which are
enabled by default but has a warning sticker saying "If explorer seems
slow, deactivate this feature!"..
