In the update dialog, I find the "Show log" useful, but if I haven't
updated for a long time -- say I was on holidays -- then I see "hey!
those files SHOULDN'T have been touched!". What I want is just
right-click them and Show log -- only for the file selected.

My English seems to get poor each day...
