I think it's true for every color (haven't tested it). You should
consider using more than just one color.
Also, not every monitor/screen is able to show those slight differences
in colors. Sure, every modern monitor claims to be able to show
true-color, but if you know a little about the internals of
monitors/lcd's you will see that this isn't really true:

the colors are always generated from an analog signal, where that analog
signal is DA converted from a digital value. Now, analog signals are
never without signal noise (digital signals either, but there it doesn't
matter), and the signal noise will slightly change the color.

even if the analog signal is in fact a pwm signal where noise isn't a
problem, the pwm triggers an analog circuit which will emmit light - and
you probably heard about production variations...

So even if you can clearly distinguish between those colors on your
monitor, other people with other monitors won't (sometimes without a
chance to change that).
