The official reply to your official request is that you can already do
this using an external diff tool. It would be a lot of work to add to
TMerge, and frankly, why re-invent the wheel. Ones people have tried
are:

WinMerge / Perforce WinDiff
Examdiff Pro
BeyondCompare

I believe that of these, only WinMerge/WinDiff is open source/free.
