Slightly off topic question related to the question and answer above...

Anyone know where I can find more detailed information about the design for
the locking in 1.2? Or more specifically, does anyone know if it is just
"hard locking" or if there is also an option for some kind of "advisory
locking" such as you can get with "cvs edit". By "advisory locking" I mean
a function where you say your are going to work on a file, and the system
lets you know if other people have also said they are working on that file.
We used this in cvs and it is the only feature we miss. It helps a great
deal with keeping communication flowing smoothly. If I know before I start
that one of my coworkers is editing the same file, I can walk over to his
office and chat about our plans to avoid problems down the road (merge
conflicts and semantic issues as well).

Thanks for any pointers to additional information!
Erv
