Not sure why 1.1.3 should be slower than 1.1.2. Have you enabled
recursive folder overlays in the settings by mistake?

In the nightly build you could try enabling the new external cache
feature. Instructions for that are included in the readme.txt on the
nightly download page. That should at least stop explorer/totalcommander
getting stuck.
