Job for you: open the merge dialog. Don't enter any revision numbers.
Hit the 'OK' button. Now: what does the error balloon tell you? Right:
you _can_ enter revisions as dates, COMMITTED, PREV, ...

And why do you think I've done that? Certainly not because I had too
much time, no. People asked for it, so I did it.
So I guess you've missed people asking for that on the list ;)

And even if they wouldn't have until now: you can be sure they will as
soon as we do something which makes it very hard to implement the
dates later (Murphy's law).
