I quite agree. Maybe we should have a 'conservation of options' rule,
where for every new one which is suggested, the proposer has to suggest
another which can be removed.

There's a JoS article on this subject, I think, and I seem to remember that
TCVS was fairly strict on this issue at one point (I'm completely out of
touch now).

I don't think TSVN would be improved by having lots more icon overlays
anyway, even if the system allowed it. They're bound to get more visually
similar, which detracts from the product as a whole.
