Maybe the last .dll to load writes its version in the registry and the
about box just retrieves it and shows? If so, maybe the last .dll to
load *only if it loads from explorer.exe* writes its version in the
registry?

Just some ideas, I actually don't know if you could implement this.
But it may work, or not?
