Hmmm,
maybe I should post it also in the svn users/dev list. Well, of course it
has to be used with care and I can imagine a lot of pitfalls, but I think
locking is a must when externals are used in tags. Otherwise there is no way
to ensure consistency for this tag. But if you make a branch, it would be
useful if the locking would be removed on request. I think, a good handling
would be a nice feature use this really powerful tool like a good GUI which
displays the externals and the revision locks. I think, it's really worth
thinking about. It really nice to move common libs into a separate
repository, which is referenced by other projects. In case of heavy changes,
theres everytime the possibility to copy it directly to a certain project.
