What method are you using to access the repository (DAV, file, etc)?

Can you access the repo via command line on Windows or just Linux?

Our Samba server is minimally configured. Almost straight out of the box,
w/ some custom users.

Yes. I tested this by creating a file from linux and a file from windows:
Same user/group, and rw by the user, which is all I need.

-rw-rw-r-- 1 williams webeditors 0 Nov 3 10:23 lin.txt
-rwxr--r-- 1 williams webeditors 0 Nov 3 10:20 win.txt

That didn't help either.

The 'write lock stolen' error might indicate something is wrong with
samba's
locking, but I haven't found any settings that look wrong. I also tried
it
on a different machine, and get the same error with samba-3.0.4 and
samba-2.0.7.
