I can't reproduce that here. When you do "show log", does it take a
while until that error shows up? My guess is that the server throws this
error message.
I assume that your server is running on a Linux machine? If yes, then
please search the Subversion mailing list for "Can't recode string"
because you need to make sure that Subversion can find the iconv library
files and that your locale is set correctly.
