I added the "you have to update your working copy first" because "out of
date" usually means exactly that.
There's an issue in the subversion issue tracker to make the copy
command create all intermediate folders automatically. Don't know when
that issue is going to be resolved though...

Oops. You're right that shouldn't be shown there.
Fixed in revision 1839.
