[TSVN] Using TortoiseSVN on NT4

Hi,

This is a report of my experiences with trying to install TSVN on my NT4 machine.

First I had some trouble updating the shell32.dll to version 4.72 (probably due to the special setup of my machine). Then I deactivated all the fancy stuff that comes along with that update (favorites, active desktop, ...).

Then I tried different versions of TSVN.

1.0.6 seems to work best with NT4.

1.1.0-RC1 and yesterday's nightly build show some bugs that I have documented below.

Yours,
Birger

Test results:

1.0.6:
======

Works.

Bugs:

1. The main context menu (the parent window of TSVN's context menu) only shows the tortoise icon and the arrow, without any caption. The screenshots of the documentation have a caption that says "TortoiseSVN".

2. Language files are not uninstalled when TSVN is uninstalled. So I just deleted them manually.

1.0.8:
======

Does not work. (Known bug)

1.1.0-RC1:
==========

Works.

Bugs:

1. No overlay icons.

2. No TSVN icon and caption in main context menu, only the arrow to TSVN's context menu.

3. i18n doesn't work. (Known bug)

4. Language files are not uninstalled automatically.

Nightly build (downloaded on 2004-09-01):
=============

Works.

Bugs:

1. No overlay icons.

2. No TSVN icon and caption in main context menu, only the arrow to TSVN's context menu.

3. Language files are not uninstalled automatically.
