G'day everyone,
I've discovered what I believe to be a bug in TortoiseSVN (version
1.0.8 build 1430), when it is used in combination with junctions (see
http://shell-shocked.org/article.php?id=284).
To reproduce:
1. create a new directory to act as a working area, on a filesystem
that has been formatted with NTFS 5 (Windows 2000+)
2. check out an SVN repository into that working area (doesn't matter
what it is, provided it contains some sample files / directories)
3. create a junction to that directory elsewhere on the same drive
(see http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/misc.shtml#junction
for a tool that can do this)
4. navigate to the junction directory and attempt to perform various
SVN operations on items in the base directory (eg. setting
properties on the base directory (eg. svn:ignore), updating the
contents of the working area from that directory, etc.).
Expected result:
All operations work normally.
Actual result:
Various error messages, including:
* 'C:\Path\Of\Junction' is not a working copy
* Could not add 'filename.ext' to the ignore list!
Cheers,
Peter
