You mean "fill the log message box with a list of the selected filenames
and their status" is too big to fit on the button? :)

I think "Paste" is a good verb to use, while "Template" properly conveys
the idea that you are getting something you need to fill out more. So
something like "Paste Status Template" (or "Paste File Status Template"
if that's not too long) would be appropriate.
