It should remember your settings there (if you're talking about "show
unversioned files").

Yes. That means that for that entry only the properties have changed,
not the actual entry.

Yes. Very easy in fact: type in a log message!
You can specify the number of chars a log message must have until the OK
button gets activated in the settings dialog. If you set it to 0 (which
I really would _not_ recommend) then the OK button is enabled even if
you haven't typed in any log message.
