Your only real option is to report this upstream. It would be
impossible for Subclipse to handle this better.

Subversion did just release 1.8.0. which we have included in our
1.10.0 release. You could try that version just to see if upstream
already fixed it.

The other option, would be to switch from JavaHL to SVNKit. It is
completely different code, so would either work or fail differently.
