I really have no idea why it's happening, but the File > Import path of connecting doesn't work for me. The initial checkout works fine (and the working copy works with other SVN clients) but Eclipse just sees the working copy as either not valid or completely dirty.

Fortunately for me, the SVN Repositories > Checkout... method does work. I'm not sure what the difference is, but this method is working.
