This is a long standing issue with subclipse.
The issue is that subclipse will not ask you for a username/password if the anonymous account has default read-access.
This means that it is not possible to checkout a repository under your own username, which in turn means that it is not
possible to commit.
The only solution (that I know of) is to checkout use the command-line subversion client, and then create a project in
eclipse using that directory, at which point subclipse will pick up the correct credentials.

I certainly have no passwords stored because my ~/.eclipse is completely fresh and I never entered any password or username. In ~/.subversion there are no passwords stored either because I have deleted the whole directory to be sure.
