Same issue with symlinks on UNIX. It'll work if you map the drive letter X: to the parent directory of your project root folder, gving you:

commit -m "this will work" ^
X:/projects/LFUTILS/TEST_HARNESS ^
X:/projects/LF_FINS/PCBTABLE_INS

I don't know why mapping to the project root directly doesn't work.
