Thank you so much for your prompt reply.

I believe part of my problem was specifying the incorrect profile for my
version of eclipse (it seems to be epp.package.jee).

However, the p2 director command line utility, as far as I can tell, also
does _not_ seem to update existing org.eclipse.* IUs as far as I can tell (I
may, however, be doing something incorrectly :( ).
