[Subclipse-users] Ungodly slow checkouts to flash drive

I have this strange problem I wonder if you could shed some light on.

I frequently check out to a flash drive for various reasons. I
understand that disk I/O to this drive is slower than to a hard drive
(which strikes me as odd in itself, as I can remember back to the days
when a "RAM Disk" was a way to achieve lightning fast performance
compared to a physical disk. However, there is ONE project that takes
slower to check out to the flash drive by a factor at least one order of
magnitude. Something like an hour. This project contains many Velocity
templates (.vm files). Other projects might take under a minute. Any
ideas about what could be going on here?

Thanks.
