Check out the project using command line SVN. Then in Eclipse do File
> Import Projects from Workspace. This should add it to Eclipse and
auto-connect with Subclipse.

I cannot really think of anything else.

Also, since you are on Linux you should also look at this Subversion
bug and the workaround to avoid problems:
