I do not believe so. If someone wants to submit a patch they can try.
The Synchronize view is non-modal. You can do compares there, and if
you use the Changesets UI you can edit the commit comment for the
change set while doing whatever compares and other actions you like.
Then when you take the commit action, the message will be filled in
from the changeset comment.
