[Subclipse-users] Working copy format change from 1.4.5 -> 1.6.2 ?

I've got an Eclipse installation that looks like it has upgraded subclipse several times. Here are the ui .jar files in the plugins/ dir:
./org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.ui_1.2.2.jar
In another copy of this Eclipse installation I added 1.6.2:
./org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.ui_1.2.2.jar
Checking the Team -> SVN preferences I see that the two Eclipse installations are using JavaHL versions 1.5.3 (r33570) and 1.6.3 (r38063) respectively. So one is using subclipse 1.4.5 and the other one is using 1.6.2.
When I go back to the old verions and try to synchronize the project I get an "unsupported working copy format" Exception.
I thought this was only an issue with moving between pre-1.4 releases and the 1.4 release. My working copy format should have been upgraded already since subclipse was upgraded from 1.2.4 to 1.4.5.
Should I be seeing this error moving from 1.4.5 to 1.6.2, or is this an weird artifact based on the upgrade history in this case?
