[Subclipse-users] Getting started, confusion

I'm just getting started with PDT/Eclipse on OSX after using Zend Studio 5.5 with Tortoise on Windows for many years. Everything about this is unfamiliar.
I have PDT installed and have created a project, installed subclipse 1.6 and Subversion Universal 1.6 in order to get the JavaHL. I have set the client to JavaHL in preferences. I've loaded the repository in the SVN perspective. So far so good.
I've now updated a file, and can see no method of committing the file to the respository. The screenshots at tigris.org show a fully populated Team menu, but in Repository Persepctive I don't get that. Right clicking on the changed file shows some svn options, but not commit. Right clicking on the open file code shows a Team menu, but none of the svn options show there.
I'm sure it must be obvious, but I just don't see it.
In the PHP perspective, I see the Team menu as well, again without svn options.
What am I missing?
