The .project file doesn't show up when I attempt to bring up the commit dialog -- which SVN command does that execute? Whatever it is, it seems it *is* taking global-ignores into account there.

I prefer to only use svn:ignore on files that relate to the project itself, and not to the IDE that one or more of the devs may be using.
