[Subclipse-users] Harmful change in Subclipse 1.4 - why unversioned items are autocommited ???

Hello folks,

I recently updated to Eclipse 3.4 and Subclipse 1.4. All is fine except
now the behaviour seems to automatically commit unversioned files. I
can't insist enough on why I think this "feature" is totally absurd. Now
I have to watch my commit dialogs everytime, because a random tool has
maybe added a file to my project directories... I like to keep my SVN
repository clean, but with this new behaviour it will prove really hard.
If I forget a single time to uncheck an unversioned item, bam! it goes
into the repository.

The previous behavior was really perfect, why did you change it?
Unversioned items were shown in the commit dialog, BUT were not
automatically added to the repository!! If I did not want to view them
in every commit dialog, I just added the files to svn.ignore and was
done with it.

Seriously, the new behaviour is IMHO seriously broken - what is the
rationale behind it?

Please, could you seriously consider reverting to the old behavior, or
at least make a configuration option for this?

Regards,

Jean-Noel
