Date formatting should be coming from your Java locale. Perhaps it is
not picking up settings correctly from your OS. If you do Eclipse >
About then click on Configuration details. Scroll down through the
various Java settings and look at value for things like user.country,
language, timezone etc.

I noticed if I go to the International control panel on OSX and change
to use UK settings, my Java values still stay configured for US. So I
am not sure where/how it pick those up. Perhaps I needed to restart
the system.
