I played around with the latest revisions of svnant (r3212), svnkit (r4406)
and svnClientAdapter (r3912). Maybe just svnClientAdapter is too old for
acutal svn releases?

I got the error of the OP only since I upgraded my JDK from 5 to 6, which
seems a bit weird to me.

I have almost no experience with developing svn tools, but if there's any
other need for Java dev skills I would be glad to help.
