Are you using a 64-bit JVM? If not, you need 32-bit version anyway.
Yes, they work with Suse. I am not sure what version the user was
using, but it was a recent version. They might have been using the
most recent version from Novell.

I see OpenSUSE has SVN 1.5 in their RPM repos:

http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/subversion-1.5.0-96.1.x86_64.rpm

Not sure if that RPM includes JavaHL, but there are some others and I
am sure they all require this one.
