Hm, I don't think that this is still the case, since ...

... I can sucessfully do what I want using TortoiseSVN. Commmand line
works as well, just checked it.

In both cases, doing a "svn log -v" on the copied file (after commiting
it) shows the correct ancestry-info as well, so it really seems to work.

I'm going to file an issue.
