A string like http://localhost:81/svn/project can cut and paste fine into
the dialog.
It reports it as :http//localhost:81/svn/project so it is complaining
about the colon in front.
I sure don't know where it could be coming from.
We looked in the files in the workspace, .svnProviderState,
.metadata/.plugins/org...subclipse.core etc.
Our conclusion sofar is that it might be in the Eclipse itself.

I'm contemplating loading Eclipse Europa and reinstalling subclipse. What
do you think?

No, it is all just Java code. Could you paste the URL you are using?

I think the code does some kind of parsing to make sure it is a valid
URL. It could perhaps have problems with something about yours.
