[Subclipse-users] Doing an export instead of checkout

I just subscribed to the list to comment on the following thread:
http://svn.haxx.se/subusers/archive-2007-11/0033.shtml

It relates to having the ability to do an export from subclipse.

Mark requested a use case for this feature. I have another one:

I have a demo/example project in svn on Sourceforge, that I want other
developers to use as a starting point for their own projects. I would
like them to be able to do an export of this example project, make
customizations specific to their project, then check it in as a new
project in their own repository (which would not be on the same server
and may or may not even be svn). My knowledge of doing both cvs and
svn exports is that is is specifically used for this purpose, when you
want a clean tree that can be used as a fresh checkin to some source
control system.

Without this functionality in subclipse, they will have to go to the
command line and do a svn export, I guess, or manually delete the svn
metadata directories.

If there's a better way to do what I'm trying to do, please let me know.

Thank you,
Wes
