Thanks, that environment variable change fixed it. (It's been decades since
I've thought much about environment variables.)

But the whole thing leaves me puzzled. The svn-win32-1.4.4.zip that I
downloaded says that it's "built with Apache 2.2.4" So Subversion is fine
with Apache 2.2.4, but Subclipse isn't?

Also, about the Subversion 1.4.3 zip files. I guess what you're saying is
that Subclilpse is OK with those, right?
