I switched mine to SVNKit and then it did prompt me for username and a
password. It works fine now.

I installed Subclipse and don't remember setting to use JavaHL. Does it
automatically use that if it finds Subversion installed? If not it will
use JavaHL?

We are using SVNKit. Deleting the .keyring file seems to have solved
the problem for us.
