Re: [Subclipse-users] How to comment a commit while comparing differences ?

        For what it's worth:

I find the commit interface kinda clunky for my tastes. I normally commit
changes to a lot of different files, and generally document each change
individually when it comes to libraries, for the sake of progeny (and
sanity).

Double-clicking to see the differences is neat, but it doesn't help when I
can't type into the commit window with the compare window open. For some of
the commits I've done, I'd literally have to open & close the compare editor
50-100 times before I got the commit message right. And since I have a habit
of saving immediately after changing something, it leads to committing with a
partial message.

To get around the whole deal, I open a text editor, type all my stuff into
there while looking at the differences of each file individually. That
allows me to save the message as I work on it (in case I get pulled away).
When it's done, I open the commit dialog, copy from text editor to the commit
box, and go. Anytime I've tried just using Eclipse/Subclipse for the entire
process of writing the commit log, I ended up red-faced and generally
unpleasant to work with. ;)
