To close this thread, I've done additional tests and it only seems to have
misfunctioned in that particular setup. As it doesn't seem to be easily
reproducible and all my freshly updated Eclipse installs (3.3RC3) work as
expected there's no issue anymore.

If it ever happens again I know that "Share Project" enabled SVN support
in the project.
