Re: [Subclipse-users] cannot view local history in history view (in Eclipse 3.2.x/Subclipse 1.2.0)

You guys rock for the ultra-quick responses! I'm not 100% sure that I properly understood your response, Eugene. The Compare With > Local History option works fine for me, just that it always opens in a dialog rather than the History view. You were exactly right that I use the 'Link with Selection' option though (how did you know that?) :-) I don't care for the Compare With > Local History dialog because it's a modal dialog and because it can't do things like compare two items in Local History to each other. I hope I'm not making your job too much harder with this request! :-) ----- Original Message ---- From: Eugene Kuleshov <eu_at_md.pp.ru> To: users_at_subclipse.tigris.org Sent: Friday, February 23, 2007 11:44:44 AM Subject: Re: [Subclipse-users] cannot view local history in history view (in Eclipse 3.2.x/Subclipse 1.2.0) Brad, There is a catch with History view. The problem now is that Subclipse does not have mixed mode that shows both local and SVN changes. So, if "Link with Selection" is enabled on History view and you select anything under version control managed by Subclipse it will immediately jump into Subversion history. Action like "Compare with... / Local history" will also trigger that. As a workaround you need to disable "Link with Selection", then you will be able to open Local history using "Compare with... / Local history" action. Mark, the way it is implemented in for Eclipse CVS, is that both CVS provider and local history are using EFS API, which is making possible to aggregate changes. I guess we will have to either merge local history with SVN history log, or convert Subclipse to use EFS API too. regards, Eugene Brad Cupit wrote: > Wow that was an incredibly quick response, thanks Mark! > > I looked through all of the issues with 'local history', 'history > view', and even just 'history' in the Subclipse issue tracker, but I > couldn't find anything. > > Should I just let the issue drop, assuming it will be considered in > when Subclipse 1.4 (?) for Eclipse 3.3 comes out? > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: Mark Phippard <markphip_at_gmail.com> > To: users_at_subclipse.tigris.org > Sent: Friday, February 23, 2007 11:25:26 AM > Subject: Re: [Subclipse-users] cannot view local history in history > view (in Eclipse 3.2.x/Subclipse 1.2.0) > > On 2/23/07, *Brad Cupit* <bctempaddress-subclipsebugs_at_yahoo.com > <mailto:bctempaddress-subclipsebugs_at_yahoo.com>> wrote: > > Hi, I'm not sure if this is a feature request or a bug, but I've > noticed a difference in the Eclipse 3.2 History view between using > CVS and Subclipse as the Team Provider: Subclipse does not seem to > support viewing Local History in the History view. > > When using CVS, there are three extra buttons in the History view > for toggling between Local History, Revision Control History, or > both at the same time. > > To see a screenshot, in the Eclipse Help search for the " Working > With CVS History" topic.
