Wow that was an incredibly quick response, thanks Mark! I looked through all of the issues with 'local history', 'history view', and even just 'history' in the Subclipse issue tracker, but I couldn't find anything. Should I just let the issue drop, assuming it will be considered in when Subclipse 1.4 (?) for Eclipse 3.3 comes out? ----- Original Message ---- From: Mark Phippard <markphip_at_gmail.com> To: users_at_subclipse.tigris.org Sent: Friday, February 23, 2007 11:25:26 AM Subject: Re: [Subclipse-users] cannot view local history in history view (in Eclipse 3.2.x/Subclipse 1.2.0) On 2/23/07, Brad Cupit <bctempaddress-subclipsebugs_at_yahoo.com> wrote: Hi, I'm not sure if this is a feature request or a bug, but I've noticed a difference in the Eclipse 3.2 History view between using CVS and Subclipse as the Team Provider: Subclipse does not seem to support viewing Local History in the History view. When using CVS, there are three extra buttons in the History view for toggling between Local History, Revision Control History, or both at the same time. To see a screenshot, in the Eclipse Help search for the " Working With CVS History" topic. In that topic is a screenshot of the History view using CVS. Counting from the left, the 5th, 6th, and 7th buttons do not appear in the Subclipse version of the History view. Most (but not all) of the functionality is still present in the "Replace With" and "Compare With" Local History dialogs, however I find myself missing the convenience and features of viewing Local History in the History view. Has this issue been brought up before? If not, should I file a bug report on it? It has been brought up and I believe there is an issue. I am still finding it hard to believe that Eclipse made this change. Local history has nothing to do with our plug-in and so it seems ludicrous that every single Team provider has to assume responsibility for taking over this feature. This is actually a bigger issue in 3.3 I believe. -- Thanks Mark Phippard http://markphip.blogspot.com/
