That would happen if the local repository was upgraded to the 1.4
Subversion format as a consequence of upgrading to Subclipse 1.0.4.
Subclipse 1.0.3 cannot handle the new repository format, and thus you
are forced to revert it to the previous format by checking it out again
with a pre-1.4 Subversion client.
