It would be expected to not work, that is exactly what he was saying.
Subclipse 1.0.3 includes Subversion 1.3 clients. A 1.3 client cannot read
the working copy produced by a 1.4 client. Consequently, it does not see
these projects as being managed by Subversion. Upgrading to 1.0.4 will
resolve the problem.
